Body-Centered Coaching: Training and Supervision
Approved CCEU Status
14.75 hours - ICF Core Competencies
0.75 hours - Personal Development of the Coach
This
workshop
offers
you
three
day
training
to
embody
the
skills
and
techniques
found
in
Marlena
Field’s
book
titled
Body-Centered
Coaching:
using
the
body
as
a
resource
for
change.
It
is
designed
for
coaches
and
other
helping
professionals
such
as
counselors,
therapists,
social
workers,
psychologists,
mentors,
healthcare
professionals
and
wellness
practitioners.
The
body
is
an
amazing
source
of
information.
The
practice
of
body-centered
coaching
will
help
you
connect
at
a
deeper
level
with
your
clients,
providing
them
with
added
value
and
you
with
increased
retention
rates.
The
body
is
an
under-utilized
resource
for
learning
and
change.
The
practice
of
body-centered
coaching
is
based
on
the
premise
that
the
body
has
a
natural
intelligence
and
wisdom
that
can
offer
coaches,
and
consequently
their
clients,
a
new
depth
of
learning.
It
involves
being
curious
and
intuitive
about
the
language
and
signals
the
body
is
sending.
Interpreting
the
information
and
then
integrating
it
opens
many
more
creative
pathways
for
both
coaches
and
clients.
Participants
will
learn
to
use
the
body
to
better
understand
feelings,
thoughts,
perspectives,
memories,
intentions,
intuition
–
many
of
the
diverse
aspects
of
the
human
experience.
The
practice
of
body-centered
coaching
works
with
the
inter-relationship
of
the
internal
and
the
external.
The
internal
involves
having
your
clients
notice
their
internal
experience:
their
body
sensations
and
the
signals
and
messages
their
body
is
sending.
The
external expands
the
internal
experience
to
include
external
body
experience:
in
the
form
of
posture,
gesture
or
changes
in
body
position.
When
clients
move,
even
slightly,
the
energy
can
shift
to
connect
the
totality
of
body,
mind
and,
spirit
-
embracing
the
inter-relationship
of
all.

Here
are
the
testimonials
from
Marlena's
retreat,
held
in
North
Carolina
in
May
2006.
"Marlena's
Body-Centered
Coaching
retreat
was
a
great
exploration
of
practical
tools
for
including
the
wisdom
of
the
body
in
the
coaching
process.
Her
methods
are
eminently
applicable.
More
importantly,
Marlena
embodies
what
she
teaches.
Her
presence
and
playfulness,
rather
than
disguising
the
power
of
her
work,
make
it
easy
to
enter
and
discover
that
depth
for
ourselves."

“I
am
so
glad
that
I
had
the
opportunity
to
participate
in
your
Body-Centered
Coaching
retreat!
Your
presentation
of
the
content
was
enriching
and
enlightening.
I
came
away
with
lots
of
practical
body-centered
coaching
skills
that
I
can
use
immediately
with
my
clients.
The
relaxed
and
beautiful
atmosphere
of
the
retreat
setting
was
perfect
for
learning
and
practicing
new
skills
as
well
as
connecting
with
other
like-minded
coaches.
Thanks
again
for
a
wonderful
experience.” |

“It
is
not
often
that
one
has
the
opportunity
to
learn
from
a
master
practitioner
who
is
at
the
same
time
gifted
and
accessible.
Marlena’s
knowledge
and
wisdom
flow
seamlessly
from
the
essence
of
her
soul.
To
study
with
her
is
an
experience
not
to
be
missed.
I
benefited
not
only
as
a
psychodynamic
therapist
and
Life
coach,
but
gained
invaluable
personal
insight
(and
the
tools
to
use
it)
as
well.
I
would
encourage
anyone
interested
in
learning
more
about
the
art
of
mind
body
spirit
coaching
to
take
part
in
any
class
or
retreat
that
Marlena
offers.
Like
me,
I
can
only
imagine
that
you
will
leave
all
the
richer
and
wanting
more!
I
would
be
delighted
to
speak
personally
with
anyone
who
would
like
to
hear
more
about
the
amazing
learning
experience
I
participated
in
Asheville.” |

“During
our
2
½
day
workshop
Marlena
created
a
wonderful
space
for
us
to
explore,
challenge
ourselves,
take
risks,
and
to
practice
the
skills
she
was
teaching.
I
was
amazed
by
her
ability
to
be
so
deeply
present
regardless
of
what
she
was
doing,
whether
it
was
during
a
coaching
demonstration,
teaching
a
skill,
or
debriefing
our
experiences.
These
days
were
intense
and
meaningful
and
I
walk
away
knowing
more
about
myself
and
more
about
mind-body
coaching.”

"Working
with
Marlena
Field
feels
like
being
held
in
trusting,
compassionate,
playful
spaciousness.
Marlena
respects
and
honors
both
client
and
process
by
staying
so
lovingly
present
and
genuinely
curious,
and
the
resulting
magic
is
authentic
and
transformational.
I
came
away
from
the
workshop
incredibly
inspired
to
incorporate
Body-Centered
Coaching
into
my
own
coaching
practice,
and
feel
I
have
gained
so
much
more
for
having
worked
with
Marlena
in
person
than
I
even
understood
after
reading
her
clearly
written
book.
I'm
looking
forward
to
working
with
my
clients
in
a
whole
new
way!"
